The Results

After a crazy time with the surgeon... I finally got to see him. NO SURGERY! I am beyond happy. It's still going to be about 3 months of recovery but this makes me happy!!

Dr. Turvey came in and was just awesome from the stary. Great bedside manner and we all joked around. He started taking off the splint the ER put on me TWO weeks ago and he stayed that he was either going to put me in a boot or cast me. Then... he saw this:

Yup. That's one big blood blister. Immediately he no to surgery, again, stating that it could cause a serious infection. His next step? Lance it. He went out of the room and brought tools and some nurses, asked if they could watch... I'm always down for a teaching moment. I did not feel the initial cut into the blister but boy did I feel it when he started pushing stuff out. I began screaming and crying. Luckily it wasn't for very long.

Dr. Turvery told us this blister was due to all the swelling and was causing a lot of the pain. I explained to him the "episodes" I've been having with the shocking pains. He said I've been experiencing more pain due to the blister. He prescribed my Percocet and gabapentin to help.

Last night was the first time I woke up in pain during sleep. I'm still feeling the nerve pain but it's nowhere NEAR as painful as it's been without the gabapentin. So grateful.
